The United Elders Group began its
journey in the year 2000 with a
dedicated core of sixty members.
Over the years, the group's membership
has grown significantly, reflecting
the increasing recognition of its
value and impact. As of 2024,
the group proudly comprises 120
members, a testament to the
group's expanding influence and
the community’s support.
The group's membership criteria include age requirement of at least 60 years old, residency in Kigumba or Kiryandongo, and commitment to the group's values. Interested individuals must submit a completed membership application form, including personal details, a brief statement of commitment, and references from current members. Membership applications are reviewed by the membership committee or board, based on the group's mission and criteria. Members are expected to actively participate in meetings, events, and activities, adhere to guidelines, and contribute to discussions. Exit criteria include voluntary withdrawal, involuntary termination, review, and reinstatement. Membership benefits include community engagement, leadership roles, and support services designed to enhance well-being and address specific needs of the elder community.
